I inherited a family grill which really is a smoker with a grill box in it. Its was custom build 50+ years ago and needs a little TLC. I am in the process of repainting it and now I need to find grill grates. The grill box is 12x24 and I have found online a replacement grate, but the smoker is 23.5x35.5 and I am having trouble finding a single grate for it, I have found some that are half the length so I would need two, which isn't a bad idea. The prices online are little much more that I want to spend unseen specially with shipping and such, and I would rather shop local. Anyone know any local places that sell grill grates? My other option is to use some form of expanded metal sheeting, like I see on most large grills, any opinions on this?
