OT: iPod Contacts

My iPod has been acting up lately (not sending sound to the left side of both my pairs of headphones). I am hoping that the contacts just need to be cleaned inside the iPod. Is there a way to do this without shorting the entire thing out?

Thanks,
Vishboy

They sell some electrical cleaner in a spray can that works very well. However, most of it tends to eat plastic. You could possible spray some in a glass and use a small cue tip or something just to clean the headphone jack.

It voids your warrenty if you try to do anything to it yourself! They aren't even able to do any of that in the Apple Store (only software fixes), they have to send it into the factory.

I would definitely call and ask at the Apple Store before I messed with it. I would think that something like that would be covered. I just remember hearing that they can't even open them up to replace the battery in the stores...everything has to be sent back to the factory.

if the one year warranty doesnt cover that I would consider never buying an ipod again

Down with apple!

Try this "http://www.caig.com" I use their stuff on all my dj equipment they are the best in the business. It' most likely what they would use to fix it, if it is in fact a hardware problem.
