does anyone recommend any pawn shops around here?

I just googled it and there are obviously several available

so before I drive to each and every one, I was just seeing if any of you guys could recommend any of them or UNrecommend any of them

mainly looking for used camera gear and sporting goods

Play it Again Sports at the corner of Sappington and Manchester in Glendale has pretty decent prices on stuff. They carry both new and used.

Pawn shops are still out there in full effect, but it seems they have shifted to guns and jewelry. If you are pawning electronics some places are requiring you to provide a receipt for the object you are pawning to avoid trouble with the police.

My brother-in-law had a fight with his roommate left for a few days and came back to find his DLP and surround sound gone. The guy needed some money so he sold the stuff and the shop didnt even question it until the police showed up. They have since adopted the proof of ownership thing. The guy got $200 for a $2000 TV and $25 for a Bose surround sound package.

A friend's sister had Lowes install some carpet and a guy made off with what she claims was a 20,000 dollar engagement ring, he got arrested at the shop trying to pawn it. he wanted $50...

mainly looking for nikon 35mm lenses

EBAY!!! No Doubt!

Pawn shops you'll have to get lucky looking for a "specific" lens while ebay will have tons and tons.

What lenses are you looking for?

Latazyo you really should not buy your athletic supporters second hand.

I bought a few lenses off of ebay. I wont ever do it again because I did not get to try them out first. I did not get any lemmons, but I also did not get anythign that was better than what came with my camera.

Just depends if he knows what specific lenses he's looking for. If he already knows of one he wants, ebay is the way to go.

However, the above goes for almost any product from clothing, corals, computers, etc...

I've bought TONS and TONS of stuff on ebay and I can only think of a few times I wish I would have had it in front of me.
