I use it everyday to speak with my fiance' in Japan.

Its pretty cool. The only thing I don't like is the lack of video capabilities for mac users as of yet. (Yes, I'm a mac guy). All in good time though.....

I tried to, but for some reason (I think its because the JP version windows), we could not start a video chat

I've used it a few times and it seems to work pretty well.

I've never had to pay for a call yet.

ahh that sucks, ya well when they get the video going for the mac version, it will be sweet.

I just made an Asterisk server last weekend.
It's basicaly a DIY PBX (Business Phone System)

BUT, it allows me to litteraly become my own vonage service. So I can call other land lines, and they can call me, and I use my existing normal cordless phone, and JUST my internet connection..

It's so Awesome!!
I used to use Skype till I jumped into this.
