outer orbit dual 150 watt heat??

Does anybody have the Current Outer Orbit 48" with T5s over a 75 gallon tank? I was just wondering if it added enough heat to warrant a chiller and also if you noticed a big difference in your energy bill since using this fixture.

I currently just have PC's and was thinking of making the jump to Metal halides.

Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

We added a chiller when we got ours, but our tank was running to hot anyway. I really don't think it impacted temp on its own very much at all.

What are you running now?

I have that fixture, over a 90 gallon. It's being replaced as soon as I finish my DIY canopy but... Whatever heat that 4 T5 and 2 150 watt halides radiate is what it is. The fixture itself doesn't run all that hot. But the lighting itself does generate some heat but I think it would be hard to say whether it would be enough to kick you over the edge into needing a chiller. Any extra heat could possibly be negated by using a fan to blow air across the waters surface. I was using a chiller long before adding the outer orbit. So, I think the question is more about the halides and T5's compared to your PC's than it is about that particular fixture.
