Outer Orbit one bulb not working...

I have a 36inch Outer Orbit Fixture.

It has a 150 Halide, in center and 2 - 96watt Power Compact bulbs on each side.

Today one of the 96Watt Bulbs stopped working, does I swapped bulbs and it still does not light up, does anyone have any troubleshooting suggestions for me?

The Halide is on one switch on side of unit, and the two 96watt bulbs are on another switch on side.

What can I look for? I'll have time to crack the fixture apart tomorrow, but not sure where to begin other than lose wires?

Do ballast go bad?

it is probably the ballast. you should be able to get a replacement from the store you purchased it from, or from a store that sells their products.

I had a similar problem with my 36" OO. I have the dual 150 W MH with the T5 HOs. I had one of the actinics go out, then the other went out on the same side. Turned them off and then back on, they came on but went out within a few minutes. Contacted Current USA and they suggested that I first swap the bulbs with the other side. If it did not work on the other side, problem is the bulb and they will replace. If lights from other side do not work, problem with the ballast. They said to contact dealer for a replacement.

I swapped them back and forth and they have been working just fine. Not sure if I can figure out why but who cares, they work! Response time from Current USA was great and if the light is under warranty, they will cover it. Good luck.

Welcome to the Current USA ballasts. I have the 2x150 with the 2x130 PC. I have replaced both PC ballasts in the 1.5 years I have owned the fixture. The ballast can be bought from online for alot cheaper. I am not at my house right now but I got a new 130 watt pc ballast for 55.00 delivered. They are made by Sunpac ind. I have had no problems with the HQI thank goodness as they are 150 bucks each.
