Over dosing?

Red sea reef foundation ABC+
I recently picked up some red sea reef foundation ABC+ Ca/sr/kh/mg/k/br powder supplement

Well my question is I have been dosing calcium a and b for the past year along with a Kent marine superbuffer-dkh .
Do I stop dosing a and b and the dkh buffer and just use the red sea reef foundation? I'm worried about an increase or crash of Ca, and my ph. Your comments are welcome thank you, I have a SPS LPS tank

It's different 2 part. Alkalinity and Calcium supplement.

The consider dkh as alkalinity, so the "superbuffer-dkh" was adding more alkalinity just like half of the 2 part.

When switching brands you will need to test alkalinity and calcium for a little bit till you have dosing figured out, assuming it will be a different concentration.

I would suggest saving buckets of money by doing:

I would suggesting using other alternatives. I use a $3.98 Jar of Pickling lime for alk and Calcium, with some vinegar to increase concentration of alk and CA in my top off. And I dose MG monthly.

As to your original question, I don't think you'll "crash CA". I'm not sure what you mean by that or you expect "could Happen"? Worse case is you don't dose enough and CA drops, in which case CA can be easily raised. Same with Alk. Worse case would be you over dose ALK, and that could negatively impact corals. Overdosing CA isn't as bad as ODing alk IMHO.

I would test daily or a couple hours after dosing to see where levels are at. Adjust accordingly, and if it's too high. Let time take care of it if it's not extremely high. Remember to do a little at a time. until you get the dosage right.

Do you test frequently and maintain your parameters such that the livestock is doing well?

If so, just stop dosing your current product, and start dosing the new product....daily testing and minor experimentation will be required to determine how much to add each day....but after about a week or two you should have that figured out.

Crazy as it sounds I don't test ever, I follow how my corals react and make adjustment by there color size growth and reactions I tested a few weeks back and my readings were
Nitrates o
Nitrites o
Ph 8.4
Cal 450
Ammonia 0
Mag and potassium I have not tested along with bromine or stutrium

It's a weird way to do things however my coral colors and growth are beyond what I've seen from some pros. I also skim 4x and filter 4x the amount needed and 10% water change a week. Just got nervous with the change. , hhas anyone used this product Ed sea foundation??
