Overflo and Return Pipe Diameter Questions

I am about to start plumbing my 220Gal to the 75Gal Sump and back.

The original bulkheads that were on this tank are not meant to connect to PVC. They are for hose connections.

I want to connect PVC and use quick connects and so on but that is not the big problem as I have done this before like probably most here. The issue is the size of the bulkheads and pipes.

The overflow has a 1and 3/4 inch hole and the returns are 1 and 1/2

Now let me break it into the intake and the return so this doesn't get confusing for me mostly.

The intake hole is 1 3/4. There are Dursi Pipes I got with the tank but they are not that large. I do know that the size of the bulkhead will determine the flow so I am not that worried about that part.

The Return hole is 1 1/2. The pipe that was being used was only 1 inch pipe. It looks really skinny. It almost looks under sized for the tank. My 80Gals return pip is like 1 1/2.

The bulkheads that were used both reduce under the tank. It may be just the ousted diameter but I thought I noticed they were smaller inside as well.

My main quesrtion if the overall sizes of the puppies and if they are too small for the tank. I do not want to get larger pipes and make it wrong.

You refer to the size of the return holes but it would be more useful to have the size of the pipe they accept. Typically PVC pipes are referred to by their inner diameter (1", 1.5", etc.)

I ran two 1" return lines to my sump so if one was to clog I would know it and the other could handle it. My pump is a Iwaki 70 rated at 25.6 gpm with a 1" outlet rated for 30' so I ran a 1" supply and reduced to 3/4" making sure my pipe length was the same after the tee so I would have equal pressure to both sides of my tank. I hope this helps.
