I bought an acrylic overflow from the lfs 2 days ago. I installed it tonight and got my siphon going and noticed one of the seams at the bottom of the outside overflow has NO glue on it in one place and steadily drips.

What can I use to seal it up that I may have at the house or might be able to get at Lowe's tomorrow?

Thanks,
Ryan

Any kind of silicone will not stick to acrylic very good. If you have some CA (cyanoacrylate) glue it will work just fine at permanently sealing up the two pieces of acrylic. If you don't have any you can get CA glue from a hobby shop or craft store.

I'll check my local HOBBY TOWN USA tomorrow. Thanks! :) if they don't have it, what about some super glue or super glue gel?

Some super glue makers use cyanoacrylate as a main ingredient. Just check the label for it though. I'm sure Hobbytown will have plenty of CA glue.......the one here has never run out of CA. :D

Your welcome, and good luck.

edit: Make sure you get the thin set CA so it can run in between the pieces of acrylic.

IMO Take it back.. To fix it right you need Weldon #3 or #16.. That will cost you about 15-20 bucks to order.. Gas isnt' that high.. lol I drive 30+ a day just to go to the office..

I agree with the above; take it back and have it replaced! Anything you do is at best a compromise, and as already stated, without the correct materials (i.e. solvent/adhesive), you might just struggle.
