Overflow down tube

What kind of tubing/pipe do you use from your overflow down to your sump?

The overflow I have, has a black ribbed tube. And it there is a consant sound of water splashing as it goes down the tube. Is this just a problem of the tube? Should I switch to PVC? Or should I do a Stockman or similar mod?

i would go with a durso mod however i think it is mainly due to the tube that makes the noise

where is the end of the tube at the sump located? is it under the water line? or above it? it should be below the waterline. then you will probablly get the famous gurgling sound of a overflow. then you can build a durso pipe to take care of that.

The sump end is about 6" underwater.
