overflow powerhead?

Okay, so I have a nice little overflow box on the back of my aquarium. Sadly, I have to manually suck the air out of the top every evening before bed (could probably go two or three days before it stops, but why take a risk).

So I know a lot of people have talked about attaching the airline from the overflow box to a powerhead which will automatically drain out the overflow box. However, when I tried that, my powerhead didn't have nearly enough suction to pull any air out of hte top.

I'm looking for one of two things. Recommendations on what specific power head I can use to do this, or an easy way to mod my existing powerhead.

Thanks folks,

why do you lose siphon so often?

my overflow must be different, i siply have the upside down u tube and it runs until i stop it. only bad thing is that if there is a power outage i could be screwed.

I have a continuous overflow. It builds up air at the top of the box fairly quickly.

Part of the reason is that it has a pretty fast flow rate, so lots of bubbles get trapped up at the top (after they splash down into the collection area.

The other part is that when the mesh gets algea in it the bubbles go up.

Just found the pump, though. And am picking one up at my LFS. Thanks folks!
