I am in the process of setting up my 120 with internal overflow. This is my first time setting up a sump with an internal overflow. The bulkhead is 2''. should I be conecting anything to this bulkhead inside the overflow or does the water just drain into the bulkhead?
heres a pic of the overflow. Sorry it's a bit dark. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

When I had an internal overflow, I set it up the same way. I remember hearing a gurgle as the water would go down to the sump but I remember putting a some net over the hole. I had fish that liked to jump and was afraid of the ride down into the sump for them.

look in the diy forum at the top of the page is a detail on many projects. The one that you are after is the stockman or durso category. This will help greatly in the gargleing noise that is soon to come. Hope you are somewhat plumbing orientated.

hope that helps

It doesn't look like you have room for a standpipe. I think it should just be like it is. You shouldn't have any problems with noise, since the water doesn't drop that far I don't think.

Thanks for the feedback.

Here is a pic of what I have done. Standpipe has yet to have a hole drilled in the top. PVC is 1 1/2 inch. Tank dimensions are 48x24x24. Return is 1 inch. Tank will be housing a variety of soft and LPS corals. Any suggestion on sump flow gph and in sump pump?
Thanks
