overflow question

Can I run from the overflow to my sump using a pvc pipe and not a hose?
is it advisable?
would using a pvc pipe instead of a hose create more sound?
(I was planning on running the pipe underwater in the sump)

As far as I know most reefers use PVC pipe. The only time you need to use flex is on the return. I like to use a small section of flex before and after the pump to absorb any vibration made by the pump. It just makes it less rigid..

I use all PVC except for the small section mentioned above. Some people like to use Spa flex because it bends and helps reduce head pressure.

Or those of us that can't measure and cut so that everything lines up correct. :lol:

Steve, shooosssh, why the hec do you think I use it on the returns I just use that vibration talk as an excuse.
