Overflow Surging

Hey folks,

I have a DIY overflow, drilled into the top right hand corner of the tank. I have made a durso out of a one inch T with the top being capped with a small hole for oxygen. I have put a straw down the hole to try to quiet the noise but it is surging and creating a lot of noise.

Does anyone have any advice/suggestions?

Try making the hole in the cap larger. That should help.
