overload?

I recently added a damsel to my tank and I was wondering if adding a shrimp a day after the addition would be too much stress on the fish/shrimp/tank or all of the above?

If it's in the 2.5 gallon, then you should definitely wait a couple of weeks.

The smaller the tank, the longer you want to wait but depending on the damsel and shrimp, it could be done.

Its a honey spot Damsel and the shrimp was forgot name....was cleaning other fish

This is far too small of a tank for this fish. Honey damsels get quite large. It is hard to say what kind of cycling time or capacity a tank of this size will require.
