Overstocked or room for more?

240g display with roughly 30g water in sump (55g)

3 Mono Argentus
1 Red Scat
1 Blue Tang
3 Yellow Tang
1 Three Stripe Damsel
1 Blue Damsel

Tank has been up and running for almost 3 years. It crashed about 2 years ago which killed all coral but the fish were fine. I haven't gone back to trying coral since because I want to get better lights and an Apex system first. No immediate plans for that($$$). I do realize that for SW the Mono's and the Scat aren't the prettiest but they outgrew the freshwater tanks, my kids love them and the 4 of them along with the blue tang all swim in a school.

As a FOWLR tank is that too much or is there room for more? Any suggestions for a green or red fish that would be a good mix with the current population? Was thinking about getting a diamond goby since they are fun to watch work and I don't mind the sand piles they create.

There's lunare wrasses, they are kinda green, and green bird wrasses, both can be a little mean, but my bird wrasse was nice.

Maybe some clowns, they are orange and can come in reder tones depending on the origin of them. I've had a totally red false perc. Before, however looked really nice.

Maybe take a look among the fairy or flasher wrasses? Flashers will offer deep oranges, blue striping. Take a look at the blue flasher - redder than most, it flashes with brilliant reds and blues, raising a multi-filamented dorsal. Fairy wrasses - depending on species - allow you to choose a favorite color. Take a look at the clown fairy - C. solorensis, I think? Green body/orange head. For true reds, hawkfish offer them, but are murder on motile inverts if you keep them. And there's always tomato clownfish, but the ones I've kept have been - to put it most mildly - jerks.

P.S. - Also look at the Christmas wrasses, which offer both red and green!

Yeah you've got a lot of room. A lot. What about a flame angel? I second the hawkfish idea for red. I loved my longboard hawk before my tank exploded. He would stick his nose up the turkey Baster during feedings. It was hilarious. He also liked to hang out upside down, but I don't think that's a common behavior. Monos are awesome fish, and I think they are great for large tanks. I think the main question you should ask if whether you want larger fish but less of them or mainly smaller fish? I think a trio of flame angels would be awesome in a 240, personally. Take a look at live aquaria, and tell us what appeals to you. Then we can give you some input. You definitely have some space though, no question about that

Flame angel would be my pic for red. Just make sure you quarantine it. I have never had one not show ich during qt.

I'd go with a bird wrasse or lunar wrasse if you're looking for something green.

You can do a Flame Hawkfish or Harlequin Tusk for the red. Flame Angel for a nice orange. Lunare or melanurus wrasse for some green.

Look into large Angels too. In a 240 you have a lot of options there, just be sure to add it last and put it in an acclimation box first. But that tank definitely needs some wrasses. The halichoeres wrasses get a little bigger and would be a good fit for a fowlr

Definitely not overstocked, although it partially depends on what you're running for a skimmer. I have a thing for tangs, although sometimes you can get a little aggression when first adding them. Foxfaces are cool and have always gotten along well with my tangs.
