So I am getting ready to order up a package. I will be adding the package to existing rock and sand from my old tank. It was in a 24 nano cube and I figure it to be 35 pound of sand and maybe 30 pounds of rock. This is going into a 55 gallon but I have added a custom sump on to the tank. So it is normal dimensions except it is not 48 inches long it is only 40. I am thinking a 29 gallon package will fill the tank nicely. Does this seem like too much? The 25 is only 8 pounds less in rock while the 30 is only 2 pounds more lol. I don't want the tank to be over packed but at the same time I want to have a nice look.
Also the sand in there now if a very shallow bed. I was thinking about maybe getting 10 extra pounds on top of the package. I would like to keep a jaw fish and I heard they need more sand bed to burrow in.
Here is a shot I just took to give you an idea of space.
Let me know what you think. Probably order up tomorrow.
