padding for the bottom of the tank?

so I'm putting my new 175g tank down on my new tiles floor. I was considering putting it on a big 3/8 peice of gasket/rubber that my friend in pipefitting was going to get me. Is this worth doing?
The reason we were going to do this is the idea that the tile isn't 100% level and perhaps the bottom wouldn't be properly supporters becuase of fluctuations in the til and the grout lines.
Consequences?

Tank is going right on the tile? Or the stand. If the stand is your concern I would set it in place, shim as needed to be level and then fill in gaps with shims. No rubber.

Glass tanks with the plastic rim around them are spose to sit on a hard surface. Soft surface could lead to a twist of the trim and then failure. A smooth bottom tank is a different story.

I use shims for a toilet found in plumbing department at Home Depot. Once level I fill with normal Cedar shims found by doors and windows. (Cedar dosen't swell when wet!)

The mat I think would not let the floor breath especially if you spill water, it shouls be allowed to dry sop those imperfections are good for air.

They have hot water heater shims.
