I want to paint the inside of the hood/canopy,just to get a little extra light coverage,I know it won't do much for my PAR rating just looking for a little extra light

White is Defiantely the way to go color wise.

You can get a reflective elastomeric roof coating that will stick to anything, insulate the canopy from heat and make it waterproof. this stuff is used to reduce energy and cooling costs in buildings and reflects almost 90% of the sun's energy away from painted surface. They are white or silver, and have all sorts of reflective particles to keep from absorbing any of the energy from the light.

These coatings are thick and rubbery however, so would probably add a lot of weight.

Try checking with local paint store or a big box store. Ask if they have a reflective roof paint and see what they have available. The roof "paints" simply make a roof reflective without the waterproofing or insulation, often used on metal roofs or siding, so they dont last as long, but you arent using this out in the elements to seal a roof, so the paint would do well!
