Paint T5 reflector?

I want the TOP part of my T5 reflector black. I have a retro fit I am putting on a LED bar and got it to look pretty good but it would look even better if the top of the reflector was black. Do these reflectors get hot? Can I paint it with an oil based paint? (thats all I have and I dont want to buy more)

They get warm for sure. I would spray with an enamel personally.

Just use high heat spray paint (for bar-bq grills/brake calipers,etc..) and never worry about it again.
