Is it possible to use something like Krylon pants for the plastic trim on aquariums? Im thinking of painting mine high gloss white, to match my stand, and then spray the back of the tank black using Krylon...

Ideas? is this possible?

For glass, you will need about 3-4 coats. I put a flashlight inside the tank and flashed outward. Anywhere i see light, i spray a few more layers. *plasti dip works MUCH better*

For the plastic trim, one or two layers is fine. But it will wear off as you scratch it in time. Use clear coats

I had some fake-wood look plastic trim on my tank. Three coats of black Krylon fusion and a coat of clear coat and it looked great with no chips or scratches a year later.

^^^ill second that used krylon on one of my older breeders with that fake looking wood stuff and it's held up very well

When I buy used tanks I always paint the plastic trim. Since paint doesn't always stick to plastic well I called my brother who paints cars for aliving. He said to use po primer. He gave me a can actually I made him paint it and it hasn't even come off at all. Po primer opens the pores in the plastic to make it bond better. I would imagine you could get it from a auto paint shop
