I just read the below and I have a question
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=215098
We have just lost our female black perc clown. She developed a tumor growth on her side and stopped eating so we had to put her down.
We got her as a small young pair of black percs about 8 or 9 months ago. Since that time she grew to about 1.75" to 2" and the male is now about 1.25" to 1.5" long. Orginally we got one clown a little bigger than the other so they could establish male/female rolls quicker and with less stress. They were only starting to become a mated pair over the past few months. They would not host in the same anemone but they were starting to spend more time together hanging out in the tank doing fish stuff. Now that we only have one clown I would like to get a second one at some point replacing the one we just lost
My question is, as a single clown can become female in as little as month would this happen with our current male if we were to wait about 3 months or so, or would his sex be set now never to change
If he will become female I would think it would be best to wait for that to happen and then just add a juvenile black perc for him now her to pair up with.
Any advice is welcome.
