Pairing maroons

I would like to get a pair of maroons, either white or gold striped, it does not matter. Is it basically taking your chances with buying two and hoping for the best, or does anyone have a proven method?

i bought two random clowns a week apart (both gold Stripe Maroon) One bigger than the other by an inch and the smaller of the two being only 1-1/2 inch long Small little fella. The bigger one I had first and when I put the smaller one in it was world war 3. By the end of the first week he had bites out of all his fins and was breathing heavily swimming in the top corner. So I took my Eraser and created a little space so he could hide there without being seen by the larger Clown and was only visible to him when I would feed. He would attack him every now and then and the smaller clown started showing submission everytime and by the second week instead of attacking the larger clown would dart at him and try to push him towards his Rose bubble tip, now the smaller clown was doing his best to avoid the larger female. This went on for like 5 days until the smaller clown finally gave in and followed the female back to the Anemone. So its brutal to watch and my brother and Father assured me he was not going to make it (the smaller clown), but he pushed through and I am pretty sure this is normal for the smaller males to take a beating before its all said and done.

Females are darker...........and bigger..............

Males are bright red............and smaller..............

In the nature most pairs are like this................

In aquarium............as the fishes cannot switch.............both fishes develops darker coloration.............

But if you see fishes like these to buy..........a large dark Female...........and a small bright red male..............the chances to form a pair is great.........
