Palytoxin??

Fastidious

Ok, so I just got back from class and glanced at my tank. I see my emerald crab pinching my new zoa colony, like really goin at them. So i bump him off, then the zoa squirts some light brownish colored stuff out from the closed position. Is this palytoxin? If so, will it harm anything in my tank and should I do some water changes to bring down the concentration? or will it go away by itself? Heres the colony that did it, the lowest closed polyp is the one that was being bugged

I agree with Organism, nothing to worry about.

I would however remove that Emerald crab ASAP. They are not reef safe with your zoanthids. Just do a search in this forum or Google "are emerald crabs safe with zoanthids".

Good luck my friend.

Pooping!!!! Lol! The clear slime that you see and feel when you try to frag your palys is the stuff I would stay away from.
