PAR meter group buy

There docent seem to be any one with a conveniently available PAR meter and they are pretty expensive for something that will be used rarely.

I thought it might be a good idea to purchase one for the club to use and own.

A decent one costs around 400 so if 40 people donate $10 we can get one that will be made available to everyone to use whenever they need it.

I have been looking at the http://www.apogeeinstruments.com/mq-200-quantum-separate-sensor-with-handheld-meter/

Being the best without breaking the bank based on data from this article
http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2013/2/equipment

If anyone can find better one please come forward.

Also some ideas on how to handle letting people use it so it dosent get stolen or broken.
Who will hold it (I am willing to but that docent neccesarly make me the best option).
Other issues with this idea?

Most sell at 100 dollars but they aren't water tight and thus are only usefull for par above water. If you can find a water proof one that's 100 and works with leds (most don't) then that's great.

We may not have 40 people but there is always the option to donate more than 10 I'm defiantly willing to

Check into Seneye. You get a monitored PH, temp, Par and free ammonia. Anyone of these go out of the set parameters and Seneye will email you. Has a par meter that can be used and all readings saved on your computer.

All for around $100.

Do you know if it works well for LEDs. Most par meters give false readings under LEDs

So it works good on leds according to them. Though they haven't provided data points is a little disappointing but not a deal breaker
