Well I have been thinking that I have a 5.5 gallon so why the hell not make a smaller tank for shits and giggles. You know something that is easy and fun to mess around with. Or To put corals recently fragged, corals that dont fit in their spot anymore, or just new corals in it.
I just took a 2.5 gallon tank and made a side overflow that is 2 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches deep. There is a hob filter in the back that is drawing from the overflow box. Overflow box will act as a small fuge, and the hob filter will have a bag of carbon, filter material, and possibly the heater.
I know that the front view isnt the best because of the side overflow there. Not having a whole lot of space for the tank I wanted to atleast make it large enough to reach into and move things in and out easily. I dont really care that it obstructs the front view, I can easily look around that. It just makes it easier to see what is inside there.
There is about 4lbs of rock I would say and im not sure about how much sand.
