Pazipro and Reef Tanks

How safe is Pazipro for reef tanks? I have a striped blenny that, despite normal behavior and eating, is skeletal thin. I suspect an internal parasite. Pazipro was recommended and said to have no adverse effects on other inhabitants but I can't quite see how something designed to kill invertibrate parasites wouldn't harm other invertebrates (soft corals, limpets, chitons, brittle stars, etc).

Since I'm not 100% sure that it will even help, I'm cautious about making things worse. Of course I am trying to catch him and treat in a seperate location, but that has it's share of challenges too :)

Thanks,

J.

I have read and heard of some hobbyist having great success of dosing it into their DT. Some say the inverts was ok, but the corals kinda took a hit for awhile and spring back after a couple of weeks. If you do it be prepared to do water changes, as the Prazi-Pro will kill every worm in the tank which will produce ammonia.

Hmm, wonder it might be more targeted to put some on the food to try and get directly to fish and spare the tank . . .

No.

You need to follow the directions on the box, or the advice of a pro. Meds are not a place to get creative. I'm not a pro either but I would think that the dose of prazi that would be appropriately distributed in a whole tank, and the one you'd get into food would be very diff.

You can feed metro in food using focus to bind it, if the issue is one that metro would help. "Skinny" is not much to go on for diagnosing.

Good luck
I knew a puppy with bad worms and it was so hard to watch her just waste away
Hope ur blenny feels better soon!

If you can't catch your fish PraziPro is reef safe, treat your tank. It will probably kill any other worms in your tank but corals will be safe. It also won't hurt your bio filter. Just follow the directions to the T

I answered you on your other thread

Treat and control unwanted parasites like flukes, tapeworms, flatworms and turbellarians in your reef tank.
Safe and effective
Liquid concentrate praziquantel treatment
