peacock and lighting..

Ive got a 5"+ peacock mantis.. just picked up a super cheap fixture that is 2x55w for his 36" 33g acrylic tank... this to much lighting? He also has a burrow of course built that he can hide in pretty close to complete darkness so that should help.
my only concern is I dont honestly know if its to much light. Ive had the shrimp for awhile now and only had a 20w fixture but couldnt pass up the deal on this one.. either way is it to much and if so I could disable a bulb and only run 55w is this acceptable as a normal level that they can be healthy in?? I appreciate any and all help on this. thanks!
and as if you havent seen one heres a decent picture of mine..

you really dont know if its too much light or not until you see how the mantis responds i had an 80W PC fixture over my 33 cube with my peacock and it never left the burrow, i switched out to an T8 NO 50/50 lamp and she is all over the place now...

personally i think that is too much light, this is a species coming from about 40' of water in the wild so bright lights arent their thing really, i suggest using the same fixture and trying to make the lights work for you on either another tank or keeping it around until you would need it

well i disabled one of the bulbs and now only have the actinic running. looks ok, we'll see how the shrimp acts and go from there. thanks!
