I just noticied that my pencil urchin was squirting a milky white substance out of it just wondering if it was trying to spawn or if it could be harmful to the tank. If it matters it was squirting quite alot out.

It's spawning. The white stuff is sperm and can foul up your tank. If you don't have another urchin that will accept it, I would just do a water change or something.

I meant if you don't have another urchin, the spawning is useless. It doesn't necessarily mean your urchin is a male. It could have been eggs instead of sperm.
