I was wondering if anyone had an extra penductor lying around that I can borrow and/or could spare one from their tank for a few weeks. Even if I could just steal come measurements off of one, that would help a lot. I'm looking into designing something similar myself and was hoping to get a model without having to pay $25 plus $8 shipping (utterly ridiculous for a piece of plastic...not to mention shipping costs on something that weighs probably 2 ounces...). I worked in a molding factory and I know the production cost of each unit is probably under a dollar even for a really small-time producer.
I've heard they are awesome and well worth the $$$, but I need 4 of them (could actually use six) and I just can't justify spending $100-$150 on these things given their lack of moving parts and use of inexpensive materials. Maybe I'm being a cheap skate, but of all things I've thought about spending money on in this hobby, these seem like they have the biggest price to production cost mark-up of anything I've seen.
Any help would be appreciated.
