Peppermint shrimp Babys

Oh ya just so happened to be watching my tank at the right time last night. Got to save some newly hatched peppermint shrimp before they hit the overflow. I have about 25 or so in a 20gal cube i had just setup. I didn't know if i could actually raise any of them. I put coral frenzy food in there and planned on getting some phytofeast or DT's in there to see if i could get them to grow and live. Was going to use air pump for circulation but it looked like to much movement for them what should i do to try to raise these guys?

I personally wouldn't try to raise them. Once they are in there it is almost impossible to get them out until they die. And not all your peppermints will have the same personality. A lot of peppermints eat healthy corals! I hated them so much that I stopped feeding my clowns for a few days and the peppermints were gone! I love my clowns! :)
But since they aren't in your main tank, I say try raising them and sell them once big enough!

I am thinking that you had their cousin the Camelback shrimp that is commonly mistakenly sold as peppermints. They are known to eat corals while true peps are not.

almost every peppermint i have ever gotten has eaten lps, ricordea and maybe some other stuff too. They were definitely peppermints since they came from Florida.

I have a bunch of peps and never had any problem. Ive never heard of a pep not being completely reef safe

thats awesome, hope you can keep them alive. Dont worry I assure you they are reef safe as long as they are peps and not camel Good luck and keep us updated

i love your shrimp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would love to buy them off of you... how much will you sell me one for??? are you interested in maybe breeding with my peppermint shrimp??

Well I hate to say it but none of them survived. My coral banded shrimp now have egg lets hope I catch them hatching. I'm getting a couple smaller tanks so i can keep a better eye on them, also trying to get more different types of food they might eat.
