Peppermint Shrimp Molting or Dead?

I bought a peppermint shrimp and a cleaner shrimp about 2 weeks ago. I see the cleaner all the time in the back of the tank, but I have not seen the peppermint shrimp since I put him in their. The guy at my lfs said that they will hide in the rocks and you may not see him for months at a time. Well today I found a shell in the back of the tank. Almost looked like a molted shell, but it had the antenna and all. Looks like the same shape as the cleaner, but I thought it could either be that, the molt of the peppermint shrimp, or the carcase of the peppermint. What do you guys think?

you can tell pretty easily if it molted or is dead. If it was dead, it would be getting picked at by the other tank inhabitants. Also, molts are, quite frankly, empty! Just look at it and you should see there's nothing inside it. And by the way, molts look exactly the same as the inverts inside. Shell, eyes, antennae, the whole thing
