peppermint shrimp that actually eat aptasia

in search of some peppermints that eat these things. mine wont bother with them. anyone have some to sell please let me know. thanks

Where did you get them from? there are shrimp that are called peppermint shrimp but it will not eat aptasia it is californica and like cooler waters and it is often never seen after added to the tank and tends to pick on corals. The peppermint shrimp you want is the wurdemanni, it is very hard to tell the difference. The store should be able to tell you what they have, my guess is that they do not know. Their legs will have no white or yellow stripes on them.

i got them from salwaterfish.com as wurdemanni and from everything i can tell they are the right ones, they just dont seem to be interested in my booming population of pests. i will check their legs out though. they dont really hide, they come out on the rocks especially at feeding time. thanks for the help!

Try feeding the aptasia with some food and maybe the shrimp will go over and pick at the food and maybe see that they like the aptasia a well ;-)
