Peppermint Shrimp to the rescue!!

Well in the process of setting up my frag tank for my ricordea tank I somehow almost lost one ricordea it was looking real bad only a 1/4 was still a mushroom and was sure that was going to turn to brown mucus I lifted the frag up and all mucus went into the water flow. I decided to move it back to the main tank to get better light in a last ditch effort to save it. To be honest I had already marked it as dead as I have never seen one comeback from this. When I put the ric in the tank here comes one of my peppermint shrimp and starts to eat the ric. But wait he isnt he is eating the brown mucus and guess what today the ric is looking great still not expanding but a week or so and it will be fine. You know what the shrimp is now hiding in a rock right next to the ric slowly taking and mucus the ric deposits. It has been 3 days now looking better every day. The peppermint shrimp actually saved my ricordea What a good little shrimp!!!!

I wish my peppermint was like that. Aall mine does is shove its claw down my corals mouths and steal food.

its funny cause I have 6 that controlled my aptasia now they just hang out, but only one is helping the ric out kinda weird.

congratulations!

my peppermint healed my sixline back to health from ich, kills a lot of brittle worm and my tank never had an aiptasia.

they are trully under appreciated.

That is exactly what i was going to say. I haven't had that problem but I know a lot of people in the LPS forum like to complain about shrimp.
I am doing a foster's order this week and I was going to get a fire shrimp and 2 cleaners but I am still unsure because of all the negative things I've heard. I don't feed my corals too too much and my peppermints haven't really been picking at them yet. I would say I feed my corals 3x's a week average.
