peppermint shrimp

just started adding some corals to my tank and it seems that my peppermint shrimp like to eat my xzenia. is this normal? and will they bother with hammer corals?

They normally take one or two polyps for "experimenting"

Will they keep picking at them or will they leave it alone after some time

They have stopped picking at the xzenia but my hammer coral is looking a little under the weather sort of speak 2 heads are looking great and 1 a little pulled back into its skeleton not sure if it's a lighting issue or water flow

Definitely keep your eye on that Peppermint shrimp. There's a lot of horror stories out there regarding these things. I've had one eat both a small Favia frag and a Chalice frag one time. Just stripped down to the bone. This was the real deal too.
