Hi guys,

How large are you largest peppermint shrimp and are they really good for aiptasia control? How many for a 55 gal. Thanks!

Gary

Hi Gary,
Right now the peppermints we have are on the smallish side. I've always had good luck with those and aptasia control, but reports are hit or miss. We do only carry the caribbean peppermints and not they're imposter cousins, camel shrimp which are known to like corals. I've always found peppermints are good at munching down on small anemones, but it's best to joe's juice the larger ones. I'd say probably 3ish for a 55 gallon tank. If you can find Berghia nudibranchs, they'll do a better job controlling the aptasia, but that's their only food and they starve when they run out of anemones.
