Peppermint Shrimp

I wanted to add some life to my 6gal "show fuge" that is full of pods, mysis etc. I already have an emerald crab in there doing well. So I added 2 Peppermint Shrimp today. Then I saw a post about how they would eat all the pods and mysis. Is this true? Have I screwed up?

Yep...they will eat all the pods... All your "micro" life will be gone in no time in the fuge.

Thanks, they are in my QT right now. They will end up in Doris tank unless someone make me an offer on a trade.

i put one in my 75g to eat aiptasia will it eat all of it or will it be enough for the shrimp and the mandarin, if not, jay you can have my shrimp,

I think the problem with them in a refuigm is you dont typically add food to it like you do the main tank. So the shrimp would have to hunt down food. (pods and other critters) In the main tank they eat the left over food from feeding the fish and corals instead because it is easier to catch than a pod running for its life. I think finding one that eats Aiptasia is hit or miss though, from what I have read it doesnt take them long to decide your high priced fish food taste better than Aiptasia.

it did eat all the aiptasia in my tank i bought two shrimp but i must of lost one, i never see two at one time, so my mandarin will have enough pods even with the shrimp in there?
