Peppermints

Peppermint candy is good for the stomach....Peppermint shrimp are a tasty snack for my wrasse....I am much funnier in my head than to anyone else (I may have melted my brain working on our tax exempt paperwork)

If you're having aptasia problems I did this and it worked like a charm (so far)

Fed heavy for 3 days.

Picked up a few peppermints from Aquatic Technologies. They have a tank with peppermints that they only feed aptasia from the rest of their system.

Don't feed the tank for a week.

Aptasia gone. Haven't seen a single one in 3 weeks. The peps will eat regular food if they have the chance.

If I have a goby in my tank should i still not feed the tank for a week? I have some aptasia and its growing pretty fast. I have a peppermint shimp that i got from aquatic tech about 3 days ago but he hasnt touched the aptasia yet. I was thinking about getting another one? Any thoughts?

my best experiences with pepermints has been to get a group of at least 3. seems they go around and eat in groups in my tank. however, i have a coral banded shrimp, so they do not last long in my tank. seems once there are only 2 or 1, the aptasia stop disappearing for me until i get some more.

I think they prefer anything but aptasia, so feeding the tank will keep them away from it. I bought 3 and they had the place cleaned up in 2 days.

You know whats really weird is I was going to get 3 more yesterday but when i got home to check the tank the aptasia was all gone. It was a happy moment. haha
