Percula -- Captive or tank raised for nem?

I have a beautiful H. Crispa nem that I would like to introduce two true percs and see if they will take up residence.

What is the best bet and choice to get a pair to host? Wild caught or tank raised true percs? Does it matter?

Will I HAVE to get a pre-mated pair or if I introduce them together, will they get along.

Sorry for all the questions. I just want to make the best decision I can.

Thank you.

I've had no trouble getting tank raised or wild caught perculas to host in BTAs.

You don't need a mated pair.
I'd suggest tank-raised over wild caught based on disease.

Just to be clear, a non-mated pair will get along just fine?

I used to have a pair of tank raised Ocellaris that didnt know what a nem was...LOL.

To be honest, most of the "mated" pairs you see for sale are two fish they stuck together that seem to get along - any pair of fish that have actually spawned will be labeled as such and command a far higher price.

You should be fine with tank-bred. If you get one that is small and one that is larger, you will most likely not have a problem. Perculas are not particularly aggressive as clownfish go anyway. Also, percula is a good choice for H. crispa, since they are natural symbionts.

Have you tried liveaquaria.com? Or, you could contact ORA and ask them for vendors where you could purchase percs. ORA is wholesale only, but if you contacted them I expect they could point you in the right direction.
