I just had an electrician set up my transfer switch (to connect a generator) Wednesday after several months of trying to decide how to back up my aquariums....well as usual whenever we have a storm come through we lose power :blown: so last night it went out...cranked up the generator and we were back in action. That was the best money spent and the quickest return on investment...my wife was giving me high fives all night and telling me how much I rocked...lol:dance: Of course she also later said I only did this to protect my corals.. I said no, it is also to save the food in the fridg (which houses the fish food, but she didn't think of that). Either way we enjoyed not being in the dark for a change....
My corals and fish thanked me by not dieing....I am not sure but I think my Xenia were pulsing a little faster as I walked by, so they may have been trying to give me a high five as well....
So hopefully if you are on the fence on putting a power back-up plan in place you are now motivated....and hopefully you didn't lose power last night..
