After reading the thread above I decided I would see if this worked for me to get rid of the GHA in my tank. It has caused much frustration and constant pruning to control it. It has done nothing but get worse. I added a GFO reactor and reduced feedings by about 75% without seeing results. I figured I would post my results here so you can see the progress.

My post from previous thread:

I finally broke down and pulled all the rock and sprayed the GHA down with peroxide tonight. I purchased a spray bottle and a brand new bottle of peroxide for the task. I have a before picture. I ultimately re-aquascaped as a result as well because I was not able to fit the rock back together from memory. HA! I snapped a few shots of the new rock work after spraying with peroxide as well. I will update every couple of days. I really hope this works.

Here is the way I put the rocks back in the tank. You can see from the photos that the anemone is really stressed. I tried my best to shield it from any peroxide. I will get better pics when the tank clears up.

At least a lot of it on the gravel is gone. Should have sent some of your corals for me to keep. I would take good care of them!

Nam that does look frustraiting. I have used peroxide on rocks where the algae was embedded around some zoas. The zoas looked uphappy for a couple of days, but the algae died and the zoas were fine. Look forward to see how it works at that level of outbreak.

So I am at day 6 and am very happy with the results. All corals are fine and most of the GHA is gone. The growth on the back glass is almost non-existant even though I did not spray it with peroxide so I think the GFO might be keeping phosphate levels down.

Day 6 results:

I will need to pull these frags out and cover the GHA in peroxide. I plan to do that tomorrow. I took them off the rocks originally before I treated with peroxide.

And this is just a cool shot of my tuxedo urchin:

Amazing results. I love urchins!! They always look so funny when we see them while diving. They are always covered up in everything they can find to protect them from predators. Cool looking urchin. Will need to get one soon for my tank.

algaeFix also done the trick for me on green hair algae pretty good....didnt hurt my corals either....... Glad ur getting things back to normal

I used AlgaeFix marine multiple times and it worked for a while. It eventually stopped working no matter what the dose so I tried the peroxide. I am about to pull the rock again for another dose to make sure I got it all. I see a few spots that small strands are regrowing. I was told I would need to treat it twice to make sure I got it all and they were right.
