I don't know if this is the right group or not so I will try anyway. Can you do regular pest control methods around areas that your keep you reef tanks in. I just found a brown recluse spider and need to spray the house but don't know if I am going to risk contaminating my tanks.

depends on how you go about spraying.

Just don't spray it into the water.. Throw a sheet of plastic over the top if you are worried.

Only time I'd be worried would be letting off a bug bomb in my house.. Then I'd just cover the tank temporarily.

How about just painting it on with a brush?

Appreciate the help. Was just concerned about the fumes. Will definately do the plastic over the top and a great idea about painting it around the tank.
