Pest ID Help Please

We are having a problem with a pest that is eating acros (they have also eaten a Stylo). When they are in the water they look like little fleas. They are very small (.2mm long maybe), have a clear or light colored body and they appear to have a red or tan line running down the center of them. When they are alive and in the water, they have several legs and 2 antennae. When they are dead the legs are not visable.

here are a couple of pics. I will try to get a close-up of a living one but I haven't succeeded yet.

They are in our 40 breeder with some Zoanthids. We recently added a long finned Wrasse in hopes of natural cures, but there are hundreds of the bugs.

I am looking for suggestions on how to treat and kill these!

that's what they look like to me. I would like to see picture evidence of them eating acros.

I just checked my frag tank, and with no fish in it there are pods everywhere, and that is exactly what they look like. I believe something else is the cause of the acro eating.

Damn Borgy... I think everyone is stumped on this one... Anyone ever seen these or had them in their tank?

They look more like maggots than amphipods .

ok.....well, I am sure they are not maggots. Hopefully someone will know and can help.

Hi Jeff,
Yep I guess you are right.....no one seems to know what we have. So far we have lost a Solomon Island Purple Bonsai Colony, A Bali Blue Tort Colony, a Yellow Tort Colony, a blue slimer frag and several other frags. Oh, and a Stylo colony. The Tri-Color colony has major damage also but I am hoping it will make a recovery if we can solve this problem.

I am sorry I can't get pics of these critters in action.....I wish I had the equiptment to do that. Thanks for the efforts to help us solve this.
