Can someone help me ID this pest on my Zoanthids. Can't find out what they are. Zoanthids look great but this scares me a little. Sorry about the terrible pictures in advanced.

Aiptasia.
Use Aiptasia X
Kalkwasser paste
Or do what I do, drop a piece of coral rubble on top of the Aiptasia and wait until it climbs onto the rock. Then just remove the rock.

Just got a syringe from my lfs and am going to inject them with lemon juice tomorrow morning before my lights turn on. Hopefully the lemon juice will not hurt my zoanthids but worth the risk i guess.

I'm not gonna tell anyone how to take care of their tank, but I still like the coral rubble approach.
It works and literally removes the entire animal.
Almost every other method causes the animal to split or regrow somewhere else.

Just my 2 cents.

I like this coral rubble approach. i used lemon juice on one today and am going to try the coral rubble on the other one i have growing. Thanks!

I do this with the manjano anemones I picked up from a friend by accident.
Good luck!

Well should have went with the rubble first. Shot my Zoanthid a few times with lemon juice and never really got the aiptasia to go away. Luckily it’s a pretty small frag so I’m just going to frag off a couple pieces and start over. Not worth that crap taking over my tank in my opinion.

I also keep a heavy duty pair of wire cutters and a flat head screwdriver. I will cut or pry pieces of rock out just to remove an anemone.
