PFO Pendants

What bulbs do you ship with a PFO Mini Pendant? If Ushio 10k, can I get 10k XM's instead and will there be a price difference since the Ushios are $35 more?

Also, i'm looking to get 2 set-ups. Can you send a dual ballast instead of 2 single units? Is there any price difference in doing that?

Hi,

The ushio is what is packaged on the web, but they are web packages only, so you can configure it any way you want. Different brand bulb, dual ballast, etc. We just put them in packages for easy ordering, but the prices are the same if you get separate items.

So i would recommend getting all separate items online and making your system exactly how you want it. So you could get a Dual PFO hqi ballast, 2 mini pendants, then choice of your DE bulbs.

Now we do recommend Ushio, AB, Geissman, or Aquaconnect German made lamps because of there reliability and 1 year pro rated warranty, but the china type bulbs, XM and Coralvue can make a good alternative when on a budget.

What has your experience been with the SM bulbs? Compaints, failures, etc.?

We have had quite a few bulb returns with XM, many that just seem to turn yellow or go out. Most of them have been single ended though, not DE. So they seem to have a high defect rating, but we have also heard they had a big bad batch, so might of just one one batch that was bad.
