my tank is cycling
it got to the point where the ammonia was going down and nitrites and nitrates were going up (nitrates being the highest)
so i added some chaeto to help it along. (was also going to use it as a place for copepods to live) of course it had all kinds of things living in it...many of which were feather dusters...very small ones.
now i didnt get the caheto for the critters so if they didnt make it i was of course going to be sad but not go nuts about it...and i wasnt gonna let the chaeto die in a plastic cup D:
so my question. i had one lone feather duster living...he was always out and would scoot back in whenever something (me) got close. he seemed to be doing ok considering the tank conditions.
the PH was weird so i added some buffer in water and fixed the ph. thing is the duster went back into his tube and hasnt come out yet. (2 days) his tube was clearish and now its dark again (hes a darker duster) is he coming back up or is he doomed?
i dont know if PH changes kill things OR if it just stresses em out and the more durable critters get over it
OH as i was about to hit POST i looked at him and he has tiny little spikes coming from the tube...maybe hes coming back out
any info would be cool....especially if i do decide to get a duster in the future...they are VERY pretty
would have to get the dwarf kind though
