so i went to an lfs and bought some calibration fluids for my ph probes. they only had 7 and 10 so i used both of these for my current probe and for my probe that i will be putting in my calcium reactor. i ordered new solutions 4 and 7 in bottles from amazon and will recalibrate my calcium reactor probe before putting it in use.
here is my question:
After calibrating both probes i had my ph and ph2 running with a difference of .04. (i.e. one was at 7.97 and the other was at 8.01). My ph2 is a new probe but i just left it plugged in for fun to see if they stay in the same range. after about 30 minutes my apex alarm started going off. i ran over and my probe that i have been using for like 2 years was reading 7.49......... my new ph2 probe was at 7.97........... so i just switched them to turn the alarm off...
anyone know why this would have happened?
