PH issue

This morning when I'm planning to feed my little follows then I realized that 1 of my clownfish is dead. Totally no symptom as the night before is still eating fine. When I look at the body I realized that the white strips of the body turned greyish.

when I do testing on my water parameter I realized my PH drop below 7.6. I wonder is this killed my clownfish or it actually suffer from other diseases"¦

May I know is there any symptom or sign of low PH? cause my tank from time to time is facing low PH issue.

I would find it hard to believe 7.6 was the root cause. Need a lot more information. Rest of the parameters, age of tank etc. When people say these happen this fast with no signs of previous distress I tend to look for outward sources or changes in environment.

My is a new tank which is about 1.5 mth old.

I also having new tank syndrome which is high nitrite, i have been doing water changes every 2 days to reduce the nitrite level.

PH = 7.6
Ammonia = 0
Nitrite = 1
Nitrate = 10
Phosphate = 0
Salinity = 1.024
Alkalinity = 7

Temp of 29 (over 84 F) is higher than most of us would recommend.

As long as aeration is adequate, I wouldn't worry about pH at all.

Did you qt the clown? I'm sure the death doesn't have anything to do with pH.

yap, I did the QT.

The clownfish is about 1 mth old with me.

My aeration is adequate as I have 2 pump inside.

other than lower down my temp, any other thing I need to take note of?

Like most fish related deaths.. The cause for this one will also likely be unknown..
Your parameters while not "perfect" are unlikely to be the nail in the coffin..

Many people have stated that practices (chemical knock out) that allow them to capture the fish in the first place often have a side effect later on (weeks/month after) with many unexplained deaths like this.. Not saying thats it either..

It died... Parameters are ok enough.. sorry... move forward..

i guess now is not the "chemical knock out" issue anymore

this morning another casualties and the rest is slowly showing sign of dying...

i realized that all is having the same symptom which is the white strip turning greyish...

yeah, I have a seachem ammonia alert in the tank showing 0 ppm for NH3 and I'm also using red sea test kit to test for NH3 & NH4. Both show 0 ppm.
