Buffers are usually not the answer. You should pop into the Reef Chemistry forum to get some help.
Are you sure it is 7.6? Are you sure your test kit is not messed up? How about specific gravity, are you sure you are getting an accurate reading on that? What is your alkalinity testing at?
If you have an air pump, pull out a cup of water and aerate it outside. Test the pH before and after. Then do the same test inside. Here's the url of an article that may help:
