ph readings night and day

whats a normal ph swing between day and night? during the day, my reading hovers around 8.2...and then hqlway through the night, i see its reading 7.98 to 8.0.... is this normal, or something to be concerned about?

It is common, and not something to worry about. I think we all wish we could keep the pH more stable, but most of the time it behaves like that.

7.5-8.6 pH Diurnal.

if you run your skimmer air intake from outside it will be more stable. i drilled a hole in my wall to have a better o2 intake for stability.
FWIW, mine stays at 8.4 Diurnal (day to night)

Diurnal means active in the daytime. Not trying to be a smart ***, just thought you might want to know. The fresh air intake is a cool idea though.
